Bulan, 22 years old. An accounting student who’s into Model UN and debating. This blog is a compilation of hand-picked, well-chosen, curated and slightly– if not dramatically-exaggerated stories of my life.

4 Oktober 2020. Kebun Teh Sidamanik. . Dimulai dar 4 Oktober 2020.
Kebun Teh Sidamanik.
.
Dimulai dari percakapan absurd tentang kegalauan Bulan menghadapi UTS. Akhirnya diputuskan bahwa: Bulan butuh jalan-jalan.
.
.
Semoga akan ada banyak perjalanan-perjalanan selanjutnya.
@silentletters__ @fourbigwalls . 21 Agustus, kami @silentletters__ @fourbigwalls
.
21 Agustus, kami pergi ke Paya Tusam. Sekitar 2.5 jam dari Kota Medan. Menginap satu malam, bawa 5 sepeda, melihat kebun sawit, air terjun, sungai, langit yang terkadang mendung.
.

She used to cover her skin, willing to sacrifice a She used to cover her skin, willing to sacrifice all the fun under the sun, thought that the experiences missed would be a great, cheap, and easy trade for just a tad bit lighter skin.
.
Now she realizes, that her tan skin glows as she runs to the beach. That her face lightens when she hikes mountains. That her hair magically shows different spectrum of colors when she rides bikes and horses. That her eyes widen when she swims at lakes, rivers, and oceans. That her nose gets itchy when she sneezes after spending too many hours outdoors, and that she loves it all.
.
And the beauty standard that she used to believe religiously, will no longer stop her.

Rumi:
“My heart is so small it’s almost invisible. How can You place such big sorrows in it?”
“Look,” He answered,
“your eyes are even smaller yet they behold the world.”
Alhamdulillah 🙏 . @d_silviana and I wanted to j Alhamdulillah 🙏
.
@d_silviana and I wanted to join this competition but our (former) teammate, @mellvaniaa said that she’s tired (she’s old like that), and didn’t want to do it with us.
.
Heartbroken, we turned to @ftan96 , another friend that became my teammate in another competition, where we didn’t win.
.
Registering this event with no expectation, as usual, and only attending to get the experience. People say we underestimate ourselves a lot, but it’s maybe one of our ‘coping mechanisms’ to avoid heartbreaks.
.
During the competition, we always pray for the best, but keep on doubting if we’d even make it to the next round. We told ourselves “no matter what will happen, we should have faith that it’s what’s best for us, as God never make mistake”.
.
Memang tawakal harus dibarengi dengan ikhtiar 🙏😇
.
Can’t believe we got 1st place out of 102 participants 🙏🥺 Truly happy to earn this well-deserving award with the both of you guys!
.
Special thanks: @suryantiayuri @violinmeidy @vanvancrystal @w_axel_r
bulaniskandar.com/baimunii . Last year I also went bulaniskandar.com/baimunii
.
Last year I also went to Bali to attend my 5th international conference, @balimodelunitednations in the first half of the year, went to the same venue, stood on the same stage. But this year, some things changed.
.
I sat on the seat in front—the opposite side of where I was last year. I was not the one being handed the best delegate award, I was the one handing the awards instead. It was no longer my 5th, I’ve had more experiences after that.
.
Lessons learned:
1. Don’t die useless
2. Stay humble, lower your ego
3. The arguments, not the voice
4. Connection, attachment, and saying goodbyes
.
More on my blog!

Thank you for everyone who’s been there since day 0! Especially to kak @endypangar @shim__ar and kak @tiarafirdaus13 who’ve been VERY KIND. Also to @shiwalishrestha my roommate 💕 AND ALL THE OTHER BOARD OF DAIS and SECRETARIATS. .
Can’t wait to see you guys again 💕💕
First failure of 2020: Made it to top 6 finalists First failure of 2020: Made it to top 6 finalists of Deloitte Tax Challenge 2020, but didn’t get any award.
.
Nonetheless, it was a great experience for us. Learning about transfer pricing, tax stuffs, meeting new friends, getting nü information regarding Deloitte and every services they have. I even get the chance to meet The Great Wise Human @geraldowb and had two lunches with several Deloitte professionals 😂 although Instead of using that experience to actually gain insightful knowledge about taxation, I used those opportunities to ask about how often and where do they have to travel instead! (Typical Bulan).
.
January’s Wrap Up will be on the blog(?) hopefully(?)
.
Anyway, thank you @deloitte_indonesia for giving us this opportunity. Also thanks to ci @suryantiayuri who also came to see our final presentation 💕God is truly good, and I’m totally feeling #hashtagblessed
.
Cheers for this first failure and many more future failures to learn from 🥂
