5 Days in Bangkok, Thailand

I’ve just realised, ever since September, I’ve been to Singapore 4 times and Bangkok 3 times, but almost all of those trips were filled with me either in conference room, or hotel room, or dining places in between (even when I was in Bali for Bali Asia International Model United Nations). So I decided to take a break from all the work and take a 5 days holiday in Bangkok!

Why Bangkok?

1. I have tons of friends there, so it can be even cheaper hopping from one place to another, cheaper in transportation as well!
3. WHY NOT BANGKOK?

So there I was, spending 5 days in Bangkok and even spent my first day of Ramadan there! Happy? Very.

Day 1

I got the Thai Airways ticket at 12.35pm, apparently, my friend, Devi Silviana, was also going to the airport and her flight is at 11am. I always am a crazy early person for flights, especially with Jakarta traffic and weather, you can arrive in either 30 minutes or 3 hours, I don’t want to risk losing this flight. But Devi was surprised that I wanted to join her and left our place at 8am.

First I dropped her off, because her flight was on Terminal 1, while mine was at Terminal 3 instead. Then, I ate breakfast at Sate Senayan and then the routine began. I checked in, dropped my baggage, went into immigration, security check, and then stopped at a bookstore to see some new titles, of course not buying any book because heavy and what’s the point of having a Kobo e-reader if I’m buying paperback book anyway.

Then I went to the gate and waited until boarding time, then, of course, I boarded and then the plane took off, I dozed off, only woke up to go pee and eat, then slept again, then we landed.

A pre-paid taxi waited for me already and dropped me off at my friend’s place. We ate dinner, wanted to go out, but then I was too tired and dozed off directly.

Day 2

My friend woke up early and she needed to work, I ate breakfast and wen’t out by myself and visited two temples called Wat Arun and Wat Pho. The two temples are located at the opposite of each other, you just need to take a 4Baht Ferry to go across the river.

I shopped some souvenirs there for people back home, then went back to my friend’s place and slept.

If you guys know me well enough, you’d know that I rarely take pics of myself, or even ask people taking pics of me, because I’m not that touristy, but for the sake of this blog post, I asked around for people to take pics of me.

Day 3

I woke up early and ate breakfast, went out to Siam Discovery where Siam Center and Siam Paragon are located to eat lunch with my friend, while waiting for her, I went to nail salon to have my nails cut and trimmed and shaped. Then I continued waiting her at Starbucks, when she came, we decided to directly eat lunch at this Korean something restaurant, then we shopped til drop. Another friend tagged along and we went to this night market to eat SEAFOOD! They asked me to come join them but I was too tired so I went home directly instead.

Day 4

Day four was spent WELL! I supposedly do another spa session with my friend, but the clerk mistakenly put our reservation at 2 pm for 1 person while it should’ve been 1 pm for 2 people. So I went to do a facial instead!

After that, we went to this place called the Bangkok Floating Center where we floated for like 60 minutes while having our senses depraved. It costed us 2100 for each! Then we ate, then we went home.

Day 5

Morning flight. As usual.
